The most effective method for minimizing road accidents is not only increasing the age limit obligation for new drivers, but also decreasing the highest age limit obligation. In my opinion, I agree that they are key to diminish road accidents. However, I also believe that traffic education is crucial.
First of all, altering the age restrictions for drivers plays a vital role to ensuring traffic safety. Many people believe that, especially in elderly drivers, since their psychomotor abilities decrease by time, they can not handle the car properly. Therefore, this circumstance leads to disaster, whether considering the opposite side is qualified to drive or not. Furthermore, the other side of the coin is that young drivers cause lots of accidents because they do not know exactly why these rules exist.
Second but not least, people should be educated when they are young, so that they can internalize what they learn. Nonetheless, scholars argued that traffic lessons should be in the curriculum or not; however, many parents believe that it is the only way to stimulate a consciousness towards traffic safety. For instance, studies illustrate that those who took a traffic education course in early ages are less probability to be involved accidents rather than uneducated.
To conclude, although there are many ways to cut the road accident rates, the most effective way is to narrow the age permits. In addition to providing traffic education may contribute to this circumstance. Because the most important thing is being conscious on what you do.
