Overall, younger people used the Internet more than older people in both years. Also, Internet use increased in 2017 for all age groups.
In 2010, about 95% of people aged 16-24 used the Internet. This number went down to around 88% for the 25-34 age group and 75% for people aged 35-44. For those aged 45-54, the figure was about 58%. Internet use was much lower among older people, at around 35% for the 55-64 group and only 10% for people aged 65-74.
In 2017, the percentages were higher in every age group. Almost all young people aged 16-24 used the Internet, at nearly 100%. Around 97% of people aged 25-34 and 92% of those aged 35-44 were Internet users. The figure was about 80% for the 45-54 group. Among people aged 55-64, around 64% used the Internet, while the percentage for the oldest group, 65-74, increased to about 32%.
In conclusion, Internet use became more common between 2010 and 2017, especially among older people.
