Yes, I firmly believe that people should take risk in both personal and professional life and it’s a crucial part of any person and their trajectory of life can be judged by the risk appetite that they have.
I do think that a person should take risks in life but it should be in some sort of tolerance limit which is been set by an individual according to the risk factor and his appetite to take risks. I partially agree with the statement that it’s more advantageous to take risks than just not taking it. Yes, we should take risks and it’s the only way to grow in life but we should also scale the risk and if it’s having more negatives than positives and if there’s so much to lose if the plan goes wrong then we need to review our decision and we need to reconsider the details involved with it.
Recently, one of my friend left the job which was making him earn 60k per month in order to prepare for competitive exams and pursue greater things in future. It involves preety much risk but he belongs from a very rich family and he has no one to look after so the step was easy for him but at the same time if someone else needs to do the same who comes from poverty and he is having dependency of family on him then he needs to be very much concerned about the decision and much more clarity and self belief is required before doing such thing.
So I would conclude that, yes, a person should take risk in life but it should be with consideration of all the factors affecting the decision. The decision should be made with much more consciousness considering all the affecting factors and one should be ready if adverse of it happens.
