One thought holds that people who read for pleasure develop imaginative and language skills better than people who prefer to watch TV. From my point of view, I totally agree with the statement for various reasons.
Reading for enjoyment helps to improve people’s imaginations and language skills in different ways. Firstly, reading stimulates people’s brains. The more they read, the more they have to use their brains to visualize the plot and process the words into meaningful information. Secondly, reading is an active way to enhance your linguistic skills. By reading regularly, people can expand their vocabulary and understand different grammatical structures.
On the other hand, watching TV lowers people’s imaginative thinking and language skills. When watching TV, information is delivered through images rather than created in mind. Furthermore, the TV dialogue is often at a fast pace of time, which makes it difficult for viewers to catch up with what is being said.
In conclusion, I support the idea that reading books is a more effective way to develop imagination and language skills, while watching TV is simply a source of entertainment.
