It is undoubtedly true that the world today has become a global village. While there are disadvantages to communicating without borders. I personally believe the merits are far more.
On the one hand, many commentators justifiably argue that there are advantages to becoming a global village. From their point of view, business is becoming increasingly international and a global economy means free trade between countries. This would strenghten political relationships. Therefore, they can produce products in many spots and trade it another. For instance, Starbucks company opened many branches on every street across the world. It is also maintained that globalisation can create opportunities for employment which means that everyone living in deprived areas would be able to join big companies in search of better career prospects. Needless to say, today, most African people suffer from unemployment and poverty. thus, global village can play a vital role in their lifestyles.
On the other hand, There are those who subscribe to the view that globalisation has some drawbacks. they argue that globalisation could lead to redundancy and job loss in developed countries. For example, by some that capital investment and occupations in advanced economies will drain away to developing countries as firms switch their production to countries with lower unit labour costs. This can lead to higher level of structural unemployment. Moreover, global trade also create excessive waste and pollution. This affects the human health negatively.
In my personal opinion, although becoming globalisation might have some disadvantages, the merits are more prominent. Also, there should be globalisation regulation for the salaries and the working environment and the government should laws to protect the environment from pollution.
