It is often argued that people who have the ability to work in old age should continue to do so, if it is feasible. I am in favor of this perspective. In my opinion, individuals who work in their old age can maintain their independence and even provide some financial support to others.
One of the most crucial advantages of working is that it allows individuals to contribute to society. Older workers often have more experience in their specific fields than younger ones. They can also assist others who are learning the same trade. For instance, in the medical field, a doctor who has spent 20 years in a hospital obviously has more expertise than a newcomer.
Another benefit is that older workers are less likely to experience boredom, as they are engaged in a field they enjoy. There is no doubt that individuals who do not work in their later years may experience a lower quality of life compared to those who remain employed. The reason is that they may lack motivation; the purpose in their lives appears to come to a halt.
People who continue working in their later years are less likely to face financial issues. In many cases, elderly individuals may be distanced from their homes due to various circumstances. In such situations, those who work have more value in their homes, which increases their chances of being able to stay in a stable living situation due to job opportunities.
It is an interesting point for people to strive to work in their old age if they have enough energy to do so. I believe that these individuals have more opportunities than younger workers. They are not dependent on others in any aspect of their lives.
