Some people do not like being unemployed rather than employed, even though they might be happier. While an unemployed life may seem better, I believe that whether being unemployed or employed have positive sides. This essay explains why being employed choice should not be only option.
On the one hand, work-life balance and happiness are more important than income alone. People must realize that life does not consist of money. Individuals must prioritise their health and happiness as life is too short to only work. Moreover, unhappy work affects productivity and quality of life. For instance, we can see people whose standard of living has decreased because they work in a stressful environment. Therefore, individuals should pay attention to their health in order to protect their future and career.
On the other hand, unemployment can lead to social and psychological problems. If individuals are excessively unemployed, they are going to face psychological problems such as depression, anxiety and loneliness. Furthermore, employment ensures financial stability and survival. Being unemployed not only causes psychological problems but also financial problems especially if an individual is an independent person. Therefore, employment can be considered the best option for many people.
In conclusion, I argue that people may prioritise employment rather than unemployment. However, individuals must realize that unemployment plays a significant role in our happiness.
