A school of thought holds that engaging in live performances could be more interesting than staying at home and using electric devices such as mobile phones or computers to watch. From my perspective, I strongly disagree with this statement since watching shows at home may result in various advantages for viewers despite some drawbacks.
First and foremost, enjoying concerts or shows at home could help to reduce costs for spectators. To demonstrate, when participating in a certain live show, individuals need to buy its ticket, spend money to travel to the place in which the show is held, or even hire a room nearby to stay and wait for the concert to start. These expenses may be expensive and potentially place a financial burden on direct spectators. For example, there was a survey about how many individuals have to suffer from financial difficulties after spending money on joining live performances indicated that approximately 73% of participants may face financial challenges after pursuing live concerts.
Moreover, watching performances on personal devices such as mobile phones or televisions may offer spectators a more comprehensive view. To be more specific, when engaging in a show in person, individuals could only see the show from the direction of their seat; however, when seeing it through screens, they may observe the show holistically since plenty of cameras are placed at each concert in order to provide viewers different stages’ angles. For instance, research from Oxford University indicates that around 87% of surveyed people said that they could have a more comprehensive perspective about concerts when watching them through screens.
Admittedly, live performances have the potential to give their in-person viewers a sense of fulfillment owing to the energetic and unique atmosphere at the stadium, which fosters viewers’ satisfaction levels. However, at home, spectators may also have the same exciting feeling at certain levels as at live concerts since they could invite their family members or friends to enjoy shows and create several memorable moments together.
In conclusion, watching shows or concerts indirectly could be advantageous since it reduces costs for joining shows and provides viewers a broader range of vision. Therefore, I believe that it might be better to participate in shows indirectly through electric devices.
