Band 6+: It is generally accepted that families are not as close as they used to be. Give reasons why this change has happened and suggest how families could be brought closer together?

It is often considered that nowadays some families become estranged than they used to be in the past. This essay aims to explore certain reasons for this phenomenon and provide a solution, overthought by myself.

According to my personal opinion, the most influential reason is that the modern world requires a very high level of intensive work in order to achieve personal success. Building a household is an extremely responsible and time-consuming process in the life of every single person due to its strong significance. Combining these two crucial things seems totally impossible for some people. Therefore, many of them give precedence to their careers and personal flourishing rather than to cultivating close-knit families. A good example from my own memory is while my father was creating his own business, he worked hard every single day, consequently, he got home very late and had a lack of time to spend with his family.

To solve this perplexing problem, we need to discuss it from different perspectives and offer some benefits of making strong families in society. To maintain personal financial status, the government may introduce some discounts on tickets for families in places of children’s interest, such as movie theatres, circuses, and museums. These trips tend to unite members of a family and a lower price will make tickets more affordable for the majority of consumers. As well as decreasing prices, the government may oblige private organisations to pay increased salaries to the workers, who have very close relationships with members of their families. It might motivate people to spend more time, surrounded by their families; therefore, it will intensify the amount of knot-knit families in the country.

In conclusion, my viewpoint aligns with the belief that the most significant reason is that personal development is more favorable than creating a family. The government should do its best to motivate people to build strong relations with their families due to the indispensable importance of it in the development of every single country.
