Nowadays, it is stated that having large outdoor places is significant for all towns and cities. There are some advantages and disadvantages of having squares and parks in towns and cities. I agree to this statement for some reasons.
Having big outdoor places in the living area has multiple benefits. First, it offers health and wellness by promoting physcial activities such as walking or jogging. People can reduce stress and stay fit at the same time. Second, in outdoor areas, people can socialize and build community bonding. The place acts as a gathering place that fosters social interaction and community engagement. Lastly, it gives environmental benefits. It reduces the heat levels in urban areas, improves air quality, and helps in managing the weather.
However, there are some downsides to be considered. Open areas has high maintenance costs. It requires constant check-up, cleaning, and security. Moreover, those open-air areas may have safety and security issues. Without proper design and surveillance, large areas can be dangerous and crimes may occur. Furthermore, some citizens may face accessibility challenges. For instance, not all residents can access to the area as some may have mobility issues or some are living far from the city center.
In conclusion, the advantages of having big open space in towns give more impacts on people’s lives. In my opinion, it is better if there are squares and parks in the district as it offers better health and wellness, social and community bonding, and environmental benefits. However, if the local government cannot provide the high maintenance and surveillance fees, It is not a must to build large ones.
