In this period of modernity, children should be taught the difference between right and wrong at an early age, and punishment is compulsory to learn this distinction. In my opinion, I strongly agree with this notion and my opinion will be discussed in further paragraphs.
Supporting my agreement with this given statement, I firmly believe that a perfect decision leads a person to a suitable path, whereas a bad decision can destroy a person’s life. Many youngsters are distracted at a young age, which makestheir lives terrible. Therefore, they should be castigated by their parents and teachers. For example, recent research by Oxford University revealed that adults who were punished during their childhood correctly are more ethical and more reliable than others. In addition, it is easy to teach them good and bad and people’s character is mainly built during childhood.
Furthermore, though punishment is crucial for young kids parents should avoid beating their children. They can use other sorts of punishment such as getting their favorite things, not giving pocket money, and so on. However, Physical punishment should no longer be used in the modern world. For instance, some kinder garden in Japan says if children do wrong they need to plant trees. Such punishments are beneficial for our environment. There are also some other sorts of punishments, such as taking away a favorite toy from a child, to prevent them from watching television or getting their mobile phone.
To sum up, the main reason behind punishment is to teach a lesson not hurt him/her physically. I believe that the aforementioned points are strongly supporting my viewpoint.
