Nowadays, some people tend to think that it is important to give children the chance to act independently by making their own choices from an early age. I disagree with this statement because these actions can lead to some serious, bad and unexpected consequences, and here are some of them.
Firstly, it is known that children at young ages don’t fully develop their brain until they hit puberty. This is why children can make decisions that can be either harmful or not acceptable, but their parents usually prevent it or discuss it with their children. By allowing children at young ages to act independently can lead to some unexpected or even harmful choices. For example, if a kid gets to choose between going home after or long playtime session outside or to continue, they will obviously stay outside until night, which can place them in a serious danger.
Another thing is that children are different from each other and can switch their behaviour very often. Parents can’t be sure if their children can make wise decisions from early age or to use the privilege to their advantage. This is why it is better to let them grow up past their childhood, because often you can hear from an adults themselves laughing and saying how reckless and goofy they were in their childhood. For example, if a kid in their childhood gets to choose something that can make him happy and satisfied while he is still a kid, by the time he grows up he will either regret it or forged about it completely.
In conclusion, it is not recommended to let children in their early ages act independently and make their own decisions until they grow up. Parents are the ones that should guide and teach their children in this world, so that when they finally grow up, they won’t make the same mistakes that could badly affect their life in the future.
