It is often argued that it is not feasible nor not beneficial for a nation to provide places in educational institutes for large number of students. I’ll completely agree with the statement because it will be impossible for the government to provide education for all youngsters.
On the one hand, I believe that it will cause financial burden on governments. This is because to provide education for many youth, the government has to invest funds on infrastructure, salaries of staff, and books. For example, to place all the students into the universities government should construct a university in every city and hire staff to teach the students of that particular city and paying salaries to the faculty every month will definitely lead to pressure on the authorities. Therefore, I believe that it is not feasible to provide education to all young people.
On the other hand, Decline in the quality of education. This is due to rapid increase in the number of universities could reduce the quality of education due to overcrowded classrooms and less qualified faculty. For example, as the colleges increased the necessity of teachers also increased, universities could hire the professionals even they do not have proper skills. Moreover, teachers find it difficult to convey the topics clearly in an understandable way to learners because of more number of people in classes. As a result, even though coutry has many students with degrees, they may not be useful for country’s development because they just get the degrees without having skills.
To conclude, I think it is neither feasible nor useful for a country to provide places in the colleges for young students. It may reduce the quality of education due to sudden increase in the universities count and requirement of staff to teach large number of youngsters. Consequently, it will also burden governments to invest more money to construct universities, to pay staff every month and many more.
