Many scientists have forecasted that in light of technological advancements, individuals living in the 21st century will have more leisure time than in the past. I believe that this anticipation has totally come true for several reasons outlined below.
There is one major reason why people living in this decade are predicted to have more spare time than those in the past. People nowadays, with the help of a number of cutting-edge tools to support them with their housework such as cookers, dishwashers, and house-cleaning robots, can save up more time to spend with their children and spouses. This almost cannot be seen with people in the past, when they had to allocate a lot of time to make ends meet, and then they had to spend more time doing the housework. This would ultimately lead to insufficient family time together, which resulted in a high rate of divorces in the past. However, this proportion has decreased significantly in this era, since modern tools help family members have more free time to stay together.
Another reason is that with the help of these state-of-the-art devices, workers in this day and age work far more effectively than those in the past. For example, laborers in the 19th century had to work very hard and might have to stay up late to address their problems at the workplace. However, people nowadays have several tools like ChatGPT, Elsa, and Chatbot, which are some artificial intelligence that has recently been invented in this century. These types of modern devices help workers solve their problems more quickly and effectively, giving rise to their more spare time. Hence, they can make use of this resource to spend on their leisure activities or other personal plans.
In conclusion, I am of the opinion that the prediction that because of technological advances, people residing in the 21st century will be more likely to have more leisure time than those in the past, both at home and at the workplace, has totally come true.
