Band 4+: large companies use sports events to promote their products. Some people think this has a negative impact on sports. A/D ?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Imagine a world where companies try to promote their products everywhere even in tournaments and matches. This phenomenon is widely pronounced all over the world and some people believe it has a disadvantages to offer on sports. I completely disagree with this statement and explain my inclinations in the following lines.

First and foremost, sport industries gain a substantial amount of money from advertisement companies. Nowadays, it is really difficult to meet the needs of sportsmen and organise matches without additional help. For allowing promotion, they can get financial help from companies and use them to cover the expenses of organisation. Many teams reply on sponsorship to meet the expenses such as equipments, high-end facilities and cost of the travel. Not only sponsoring help cover the cost of organisation of tournaments but also support the sportsmen with covering expenses of fitness clubs, training classes or proteins. If sport industries prohibit advertisement, sportsmen can feel financial pitch. As a result, they might be stressed and can not be fully prepared for upcoming matches, which in turns can be the straight path to defeat.

Secondly, sponsorship creates a job opportunity and boosts countries economy while also developing new types of sports. There are many unpopular, local athletes, who have innate talent for less known sports but lacks of financial resources to support themselves. Advertisement companies can back up them, by providing support and hiring coaches and the whole stuff. This not only creates jobs but also helps develop new sports within a country, attracting tourists and contributing to economic growth. For example, in tropical countries, where climate is always hot, developing sports such as hockey, skiing and ice skating is impractical and impossible. However, with the money that advertisement companies provide, governments can use these funds to build new stadiums, parks or educational centres for lesser known sports to develop them.

In conclusion, I don’t consent with those who believe that advertisement companies has only drawbacks to offer because i believe that funds that they promise can be used to develop less known sports, support sportsman, no matter how famous they are or just increase country’s economy.
