Nowadays, products are introduced promotely by using sports events. However, this thinking is considered that it may bring negative impact on sports. Personally, I partly agree with this opinion and this essay will provide reasons to support my view.
On the one hand, there are several persuasive reasons why large companies use sports events to promote their products, which is a negative aspect. Firstly, that product will be considered based on the reputation of the sport events, meaning many sports games like soccer or football are always watched and followed by inhabitants because they represent countries in a competition and products can appear like advertisements that sometimes make viewers uncomfortable and unsatisfied. Therefore, item sales might plummet and cause the company to lose lots of money. Secondly, merchandise can be lose its appeal, which rely on players behaviours. For example, Ronadol, is a good soccer player, pushed away soda called Coca-Cola and just chose water. Consequently, the company lost revenue.
On the other hand, products are used in sports events can also bring advantages. First of all, they may be popular and become widely known because when players interview, products will be put near players, which sometimes they are also used by players. For example about Pepsi, when a soccer player interviews, he can feel thirsty and drink it. As a result, because of his popularity, this drink will be well-known and may be a hot seller on the market. Additionally, the company can find many partners or investors. This is probably because these goods are easy to access the celebrities and they can cooperate. This thing might help the company advertise effectively and in the future, it can expand to a bigger company.
In conclusion, although there are mixed opinions on determining whether using sports games to introduce products are drawbacks, I assert that they can get benefits about doing this. In other words, this phenomenon can create some oppotunities for company to develop and expand but also make it lose money.
