We sometimes live in countries other than our home countries for various purposes such as education or job. Language barrier is one of the most crucial challenge that we face as foreigners in a country whose local language is different from ours.

While living in a foreign country, we interact with the host people at many occasions, for example shopping from a grocery store, buying food from a local restaurant or even having a medical check-up from the local doctor. It is almost impossible to perform all these day-to-day routine tasks without speaking with the local people. Learning and speaking in their local language might sometimes create feelings of being overwhelmed. In addition, most of the jobs require candidates to speak in the host country’s language. Furthermore, making friends from the local community can be difficult if you cannot understand or speak their language fluently. However, some people still do not consider it as an issue.

There are online language translating applications available that can to translate any language into your native language. Such applications aid in interacting with the local people and executing daily life activities easily. But this still cannot be applied to professional sittings especially in jobs that require client-facing responsibilities such as a Help Desk Analyst or a managerial job which requires extensive communication like the Hotel Manager position.

In conclusion, I believe that although now a days we have language translating applications which can be useful in some ways, but it would still cause social and practical problems for us, therefore, it is necessary to have a great command over the language of the host country in which we live.
