Language serves as the medium of communication between individuals, facilitating the sharing of knowledge and social interaction. Each country has its own language, which can vary significantly in accent, pronunciation, and manner of speaking even across short distances.
From my perspective, language often causes social issues. For instance, when a person travels to a new country, they frequently encounter difficulties in communicating with the locals. This can lead to the individual being perceived as an outsider, isolated from the social life of the community.
Practical problems also arise when a person lacks the necessary communication skills or knowledge to interact effectively with people from different backgrounds. For example, a traveler may need to obtain travel information from a cab driver. Without clear communication, the traveler could face significant challenges, potentially unable to reach their intended destination.
I have personally experienced similar challenges, not from moving between countries, but from relocating within my own country—from Maharashtra to Telangana for job opportunities.
After completing my graduation, I moved to Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, in search of accommodation near my workplace. Despite my attempts to communicate with the locals about available flats, they struggled to understand me. Even when I switched to English, which is widely recognized globally, the language barrier persisted. To resolve this issue, I hired a translator fluent in the local language, which finally allowed me to find and secure a flat for residence.
