Band 5+: Living in big cities is bad for people's health. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

There is an opinion that living in the major cities is detrimental to public health. In my opinion this is a well-justified view, which I largely agree with this notion for several key reasons.

One of these reasons that in urban areas, there is a plenty of cars, factories which is harmful to air quality. When people breath low quality of air, it had adverse effects to citizens wellness. As a result problem health issue may increase significantly. For instance, poor air quality has become a major environmental issue in Almaty, with many residents suffering from respiratory illnesses and other health problems as a result of prolonged exposure to air pollution, compared to other cities in Kazakhstan that has better air quality.

Another reason is that in the large cities people face with noice pollution. When people come from work and they want some rest but in the urban cities;they cannot relax because of cars, people, music, parks. It can also reduce concentration and negatively affect people’s mental well-being.For example in the New York study estimated that about 2.65 million adults in New York City have their sleep disturbed by noise at least once a week, mainly because of traffic, sirens, buses, garbage trucks, and the subway. If they were not lived in the big city, they would not struggle such problems.

In conclusion,I fully agree with the idea of urban living is harmful for local people, because of atmospheric pollution and excessive noise.
