In today’s fast-paced world, with the rapid growth of textile technology and dominant capitalist system, people dress and fashion has been significantly impacting and changing from various factors. There has been an ongoing debate over how global fashion has become such a strong influence on people’s pleasure and choices. In this essay, I will discuss what I believe that this is a positive or negative development.
To begin with, one of the main reasons how global fashion trends have become such widespread and has reached most of people is that social media is common and accessible than past among individuals. In such platforms like instagram, tiktok and shopping apps or TV, celebrities and influencers are advertising consistently, marketing lifestlyes. Thereby, people tend to be convinced and copy their dressing and lifestyles, which leads to spreading trends and they being popular. Another point worth mentioning is that capitalist system’s effect and strong of influencing. It boost people to excessive shopping steadily and consumption in order to exist itself.
From my perspective, such situations are not positive advancements due to drawbacks of extreme textile production and consumtion, which lead to many waste, damaging environment such as water, agriculturel areas and air. Another significant handicap is that serial production can lead to unfair workforce conditions for labour such as pushing them overworking, unequal salary, assigment that reduce creativity and productivity.
In conclusion, all things considered, the impacts and strong influence of the global fashion trends on people’s choices and pleasure are undoubtedly truth. From my point of view, such advancements are quite negative, because influencers and global fashion trends encourage people to excessive shopping and unnecessary consumption, which leads to textile waste. It is essential that a balanced approach should be adopted and textile recycling should be promoted for reducing extreme consumption for the long-term health of the world.
