With the development of society, money is becoming more and more important on people’s lives. Therefore, many parents want their kids to work in their free time. From my perspective, that action has both pros and cons.
On the one hand, encouraging children to have a part-time job offers considerable advantages. One of the most significant benefits is gaining work experience. There are many opportunities from part-time jobs help children learn valuable skills such as responsibility and time management, which can be beneficial for their future. An additional advantage of getting a part-time job is that their parents want to teach them about the value of money. Teenagers will know how difficult it is to earn money, from that they can learn how to save money as well as provide them with financial independence.
On the other hand, there are certain drawbacks to working a part-time job. A potential disadvantage is that it influences on their education. Working part-time, especially for long hours, leaves them with less time to study and complete homework, leading to lower academic performance and a lack of motivation to do well in school. Furthermore, a negative aspect of having part-time jobs is bringing stress and burnout. Balancing work and school is not easy, it can be stressful and lead to burnout, affecting child’s health. This is extremely dangerous.
In conclusion, there are both pluses and minuses to encouraging teenagers to have part-time job in leisure time. While it may have some downsides, its advantages make them well worthwhile.
