Traffic congestion is one of the major problems in urban areas. Due to a majority of vehicles, cities face an ongoing crisis. Furthermore, it is necessary to address solutions to this problem, such as developing public transportation. In this essay, I will discuss the difficulty of this issue and give some suitable solutions.
Firstly, increasing car ownership enormously causes traffic congestion in cities, especially during rush hours. Additionally, individuals prefer to use private cars as it can be accessible and easier. Consequently, the number of vehicles raises, so it results in more traffic. For instance, Tehran, the capital of Iran, faces heavy traffic in most of its streets, which is increasing every day.
Another effective measure is developing public transportation to provide infrastructure as subways or provide high-tech buses or offering cheap or free public transportation can be an effective solution to this problem. Furthermore, people rely on this kind of transportation as a major vehicle daily. For example, although Tokyo is one of the biggest and most crowded cities worldwide, it never faces traffic due to developed public transportation.
Overall, while traffic congestion is a major crisis in urban areas that cause traffic, effective public transportation could alleviate this kind of difficulty.
