Migration has become an increasing trend these days. The migration from rural districts to towns and cities is now a debatable issue. There are three main causes and a few key impacts, which I will describe now.
The main cause of migration is the availability of better career opportunities in cities which are not easily seen in villages these days. Along with it, there are better healthcare and sanitation facilities in cities which allows one to have a healthier lifestyle than in rural areas. Thirdly, there aren’t very good infrastructures built in villages which are exceptionally found in cities. Moreover, a person is likely to be paid in a better way while working in a city. These high earnings can’t be expected while working in a regional location such as village.
Moving on to effects on existing city inhabitants, the primary and foremost effect is that the cost-of-living expenses increases dramatically. The property prices reach the sky which makes it difficult for middle-class people to purchase a house or an appartment. The other important effect which can be seen on city dwellers is the competition for employment and job opportunities, more widely at skill based jobs. This might lead to reduction in annual earning of accomodation such as restaurants and cafes. Furthermore, a vast effect is also observed in the basic accommodations of living in a city.
Conclusively, one of the essential causes of migration in cities is the employment possibilities and better standards of living. Whereas, the effects comprises of high living expenses and more competition than it already was in skill based jobs.
