These days you could see companies that offer their workers free services hoping to see some increase in the company’s productivity or even the hygiene of the employees. One of the most known services that are given to the them is a free gym membership. While this might be a good idea, many oppose this side and think that it is not really needed for companies to do so.
Offering a free service, in general, is a completely kind thing to do. You can imagine yourself doing your exercises in the gym and then you suddenly are in need of a drink or some energized food to boost you up. In addition to this, imagine going to the fridge and finding that everything is for free while you drink it and eat it in the gym. As you may realise, from this perspective, that getting something for free, for whatever reason it might have been for, will not only boost what you needed at that time, but will also boost your energy to continue doing what you are doing.
On the opposite side of the wall, many people think that doing this kind of action is, simply, fully a waste of money. Giving free gym memberships to your employees can be stupidly expensive, especially when you have a small company. In addition to that, many people these days pay for their gym for a year time of membership but they only come for 1 month and then they abandon their routine of building a better human.
While this might be a controversial topic, I still believe that offering people a free service that helps them internally and externally would be a necessary thing to do. Owning a gym membership card without paying any fees will surely make them happy. Furthermore, the company will show that they have some affection for their employees and that they want what’s best for their community.
