Advertising sports goods has become common among prominent athletes. I consider that the drawbacks outweigh the advantages because the community is mostly being misguided by sports players.
The merit of advertising sports goods is that a sports player’s career will be at a new level, and from using their performance they earn a lot of money. For many players, income from commercials gives an opportunity for an improved lifestyle, as well as a budget for significant events. For instance, big companies like Nike and others offer athletes to advertise their products. Consequently, by publicly broadcasting goods, athletes make a profit as they obtain fame among people, which is an important aspect of their career and earning money.
On the other hand, the disadvantage of broadcasting advertisements may negatively influence individuals. People are often receptive to sports players’ advertisements, as their fame has an impact on an individual’s opinion. In most cases, athletes advertise products by misleading the public with harmful goods. For instance, manufacturing companies often offer players to make a commercial for a drink such as RedBull, which tends to have side effects on the human body. As a result, society is misguided by sports players who disseminate unhealthy products as effective ones.
In conclusion, the advantages are only important and beneficial for sports players while the drawbacks play a vital role in people’s health and comfort. I think that an individual’s health is more important than the profit of sports players, and the disadvantages clearly outweigh the merits.
