In today’s competitive world, it is crucial for most employees to follow training programs in order to remain competitive. While some people think that individuals should pay for courses themselves, others oppose this, preferring courses provided by business companies instead. I think that it is more the companies’ responsibility to develop the professional skills of their workers; however, employees should also take the initiative in self-investment.
On the one hand, self-investment can have some advantages over training programs conducted by companies. Firstly, by paying for their own training, individuals have more control over the skills that they learn. This can lead to greater job satisfaction, without pressure from companies. Secondly, skill enhancement courses that do not include company guidance are, in most cases, of better quality, allowing people to learn more productively. Additionally, employees who choose self-investment over company training have higher chances of achieving successful results in developing skills important for their jobs.
On the other hand, it is in companies’ interests to provide high-level training and development programs for their employees, in order to remain competitive. For instance, some large companies such as Google and Amazon supply ongoing training programs for their employees to ensure that they remain at the cutting edge of technology. By doing this, businesses maintain a competitive workforce, which directly contributes to their success. Moreover, training programs arranged by companies usually have better accessibility due to their cheaper price, or some programs may be totally free.
In conclusion, I state that companies should offer courses for their staff. Nevertheless, it is in individuals’ best interest to seize the opportunity to undergo courses independently of companies.
