There is a widely held perception in many parts of the world today that ready-made food contains a significant amount of sugar, which is the root of many health problems. There is a suggestion to raise the price of these products, encouraging customers to consume less sugar. From my perspective , the idea is completely justifiable due to the sedentary lifestyle of many people as well as the high cost of unhealthy foods.
One point which I believe to be absolutely pivotal is the fact that an inactive lifestyle increase the risk of developing health problems such as diabetes, obesity, and strokes. In other words, individuals today rely on less beneficial diets, which eventually lead to higher sugar and cholesterol levels in three blood compared to those who eat fruits and vegetables. To illustrate, in China, most of people practice daily exercises like walking and running, along with a nutrition system rich in vitamins and proteins found in specific type of vegetables and meat. This example shows clearly that how diet and physical activity play crucial roles in maintaining fitness.
Another reason is that the majority of snacks and beverages are expensive. Of course some people may feel better while eating such foods; however, I would contend that these foods provide only temporary feelings of happiness and satisfaction. This is because after spending money on these products, people may feel depressed and anxious. For example, students often spend their income on sweets and soft drinks with their friends and relatives, resulting in more financial obligations on their shoulders rather than saving money for essential expenses like tuition fees and educational books. So, there is no doubt that high prices of unhealthy foods could be reflected in negative way on their finances.
To recapitulate, I am totally agree with increasing the price of high-sugar meals. This is because of the negative impacts on health as well as the unsatisfactory economic effects on people’s budget. Hopefully, individuals will become more conscious of the detrimental consequences of excessive sugar consumption.
