Band 7+: Many parents put a lot of pressure on their children to succeed. To what extent do you agree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Nowadays, most parents want their children to be successful, so they put a lot of pressure on their children. I think that parental involvement has a huge impact on children’s development. For that reason, parents choose forcing their children to study.

On the one hand, children in young ages need support from their parents and teachers. They should show to every child the right path that will lead them to a successful career. During the teenager period, most people do not care about life and what it will bring in the future; instead, they choose attending to parties, making short-term relationships, which decrease their energy and motivation to study. Parents can prevent these issues by teaching children the impact of future. Moreover, they can even put pressure on children because parents value the development of technical skills in school.

On the other hand, pressure can damage the confidence of individuals; furthermore, it can lead to irreversible mental breakdown. I believe that children can be sensitive during their teenager period, which they want to make their decisions without involvement. In addition, giving freedom to young people is beneficial for their character development. This ensures that they can make the right decisions in every complex situation. People who suffer from lack of confidence should challenge themselves to overcome this issue.

In conclusion, parent should not force their children to study or work; instead, they can teach them appropriately to understand the impact of studying.
