In recent times, it is usually believed that high school students are stimulated to question and offer criticisms of their teachers to enhance educational quality, whereas others claim that students evaluate their teachers resulting in loss of esteem and discipline in the classroom. In the following paragraphs, I will discuss both views before giving my opinion.
To commence with, people should recognize the fact that students study in high school should be encourage to ask and provide criticize their teachers can help teacher improve teaching. There is no denying that giving feedback for teachers are an excellent way to enhance teachers’ performance. It is obvious that each teacher will have a different and inappropriate performance, so students giving an opinion about their profession can help them identical their weaknesses and strengths in their teaching and make necessary improvements. What is more, if students do not understand, they will require and respond with the tutor to discuss the problem together, so it will make students clearly understand about the problem. Furthermore, one further justification which should not be ignored here is that evaluating teachers’ teaching and pointing out the mistakes in their methods, the quality of education will be increased considerably. This means that, how students in high school are study better depends on the content of the lessons and the approach that tutors apply in the class.
On the other hand, there are some reasons supporting the statement that students evaluate and criticize their teacher, which leads to prohibiting their behaviour. Firstly, some teachers can be vulnerable from negative words of students which makes them feel sad and depressed. These words impact on approach the quality of teacher can be declined. In other words, the motivation of teachers will be decreased by negative words. Even though feedback allows the tutor to improve themselves, criticisms can lead to a decrease in motivation to teach. Many teachers have negative thoughts such as leaving their high school job, which can even impact on mental damage.
In conclusion, while some people argue that students should criticism their profession with harsh words in order to enhance the quality of education, I am quite in favor of the idea saying that evaluating their teaching which leads to disrespect and discipline and which even influence their mental health. Nevertheless, each of us should consider carefully before reaching the final decision on this issue.
