Band 6+: Many people around the world rely on buses, trains, and other forms of public transport to get to work or travel long distances. What are the pros and cons of using public transportation?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In contemporary society, people have accessibility to various kinds of transport that help to arrive from point “A” to point “B”. Using public transport is one of the way how individuals can get to a destination. Of course, it has both benefits and drawbacks. In this eesay, I will look at the both sides and try to draw some conclusions.

Let’s begin by looking at the benefits of this phenomen. The most evident advantage is price. Using public transport gives you the opportunity to travel cheaper and save your budget. In many countries, the price of the trip is fixed, so it doesn’t matter how many kilometers you go, you often pay the same price. Also, some public transport has the payment system with the monthly pass, that makes your trip almost no cost. Another benefit is that this kind of the transport reduces the pollution rate. For instance, one public bus might accommadate around forty people, while private car does only four. As a result, if every individual uses private transport it will has considerable influence of raise of the air pollution rate.

Turning to the other side of argument, it is not always comfortable way to travel. Public transport doesn’t arrive by your home, so firstly you need to get to the stop, and of course, you need to be at right time, because every public transport has the strict schedule. Another problem is that sometimes it can be overcrowded, especially on the weekends. So if you value your own space, using public transport can be a bit irritating.

All things considered, using public transport comes with both pros and cons. The decision of using it requires weighing the advantages of the price and preserving the ecosystem against the disadvantades of sacrificing your comfort. In my perspective, it is more suitable when you travel a long distance, whereas private transports fitted more for short ones.
