Advantage And Disadvantage

Band 6+: Many people around the world use social media every day to keep in touch with other people and get news events. Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages ?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is argued that social media allows to people stay connected. Although, social media is not able to give the same emotions as face to face style of communication, I still believe that there are more benefits than drawbacks to use social media.

Admittedly, there can be several benefits of social media to stay connected. Firstly, I feel that social media allows people to be available to answer all the time. This is because, almost every time we use social media from our phones, so people have the ability to use it any time, with convenience and with a messages delivering. For example, several decades ago there was no social media to keep in touch, and it was inconvenient and slow, so our modern technologies such as social media made it easier to keep in touch without struggling and waiting the answer for weeks or even months. Secondly, this is convenient because of its availability to install them on the almost every modern phone. This is because, nowadays almost every phone can install the apps such as Telegram. The availability of downloading apps makes the communicating way more comfortable.

Notably, people think that there are some disadvantages using social media. Firstly, people believe that social media takes up a huge amount of time. This may be because of children who use apps like Instagram, and misuse their time. For instance, nowadays young people text and scroll through videos which consequently consumes a lot of time. Secondly, some people think that using social media cannot give the same feelings as face-to-face communication. This may be because of inability to share emotions with the other side. For example, have a talk via social media may be a boring activity and be ineffective way of sharing emotions.

In conclusion, although drawbacks such as being unable to share some emotions and overusing. Therefore, in my opinion upsides outweigh the downsides.
