According to many pople, high school education specilized on numeric areas (Mathematics and Science) instead of having various range of subjects. As a person who grown up in a country supporting this view, I am strongly disagree. The idea, measuring intelligence with person’s numeric abilities, should be destroyed, if a sociaty wants to grow mentaly healthy, happy and sucsessful individuals.
Every individual has unique talents, and different capabilities on various subjects since the beginning of their lifes. Scientists have carried out some researches about how brain works over the years. Moreover, it is prooved that having numceric skills is not a sign of high IQ. However, this judgement can identify impossible to become a ghost easily. On the other hand, the good method of a start is don’t seperating students according their abilities on maths and science in high schools. In my country, at students third year, a student required to choose an area, numeric or social sciences based. Most of the time, when a student choose to study social sciences, they identify as unsucsessful. Therefore, it effects them professional life in the future.
On the one hand, having various of subjects in schools like Arts, Physical Education, History, and Languages, is essential for characteristic developments in many ways. Having merely numeric skill in real life makes a soul empty. I remembered I only had satisfied when I created someting in my high school, especially participated my art-related lessons. Furthermore, my language lessons taught me about new cultures and traditions, improved my communication skills. My history lessons, gave me the knowledge about my country, new perspective of international relations, and world peace. This examples can be continue forever.
In conclusion, every teenager has countless abilities and talents that makes them special. The idea of ‘a person should good at math, and science areas and trained in those at High Schools’ shouldn’t be provoked. Other lessons are as essential as numeric lessons, due to students characteristics’ development, and how to be a sucsessful member of an active member in communities.
