Many people believe that shared knowledge in the fields of research, business, and academics is always beneficial. while others have the opinion that it is not something that should be spread freely because of its value and sensitivity. In my view, the latter statement is true for several compelling reasons, which I will explain below.
In the modern world of artificial intelligence, the internet is overwhelmed with knowledge. However, in the current age of cold wars among countries having atomic energy, sharing information in fields of science and technology should be calibrated as per sensitivity. We cannot share either personal or professional information freely. For instance, in terms of scientific research, any kind of information could be used to harm world peace, such as the creation of atomic bombs , drones, harmful medicine and vaccines, and inflicting viral pandemics and causing a threat to the human race.
Similarly, any kind of cooperative information could get hacked online and lead to heavy losses to businesses. Furthermore, sharing any personal information, as exemplified by the credit card details, has been seen to be copied and lead to individuals losing their money.
On the other hand, I believe academics is something humans can share as much as they can; there is no limitation to that, and it has no harm. For example, group studies, as compared to individual studies, not only enhance knowledge but also build confidence and lead to the personal growth of members as well.
In conclusion, knowledge and information should be categorised first based on sensitivity. If the benefit of sharing far outweighs the drawbacks, then it can be shared freely.
