Band 5+: Many people believe that social networking sites (such as Facebook, Twitter and so on) have had a huge negative impact on both individuals and society.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Facebook is an application that was released more than decade ago. Facebook single handedly changed the way people interact with each other. Before facebook people interacted through mail, phone call, sms, and radio, after facebook arrived people started to jump onto the social media bandwagon. It is especially helpful toward reconnecting to older and long separated friends. These trends spread all over the world and open our world to the social media era.

Social media users have been growing especially rapidly over the past decades surpassing billions of users across many applications that are basically trying to copy facebook’s success. But some people are taking social media to another level unseen before. This rapid change plunged the world into a social media frenzy, it gave birth to new occupations like social media influencer, blogger, and many more. These people have stepped out of the normal line people believed before. More and more people are leaving their 9-5 job and trying to break into the fame of social media creators because the pioneers of social media content creators are raking in money like no one ever seen before and in a way that seems especially easy.

These fame and riches blinded the younger generation and made them listen less and less to their parents, elders, and teachers, because they believed they could make it big on the social media platform. Unfortunately not everyone can make it big on the social media platform, but these young and desperate youngsters are getting bolder everytime they fail to reach sufficient cloud or engagement prompting them into stupid and dangerous actions that endanger people and their own lives just to get engagement.

Social media of course does not completely detrimental to our society, but preparing the younger generation to thrive in this social media age is the responsibility of our generation.
