It is commonly known that societies visit malls to relax and spend time after work or school. The mall contains cafes, fashion brands and other activities. In my opinion this is not a negative trend, but a matter of preferences and time availability.
Firstly, Underdeveloped countries tend to have uneven development, some areas are well built, some are not. People at the well-developed areas have no option to enjoy nature as green spaces are usually limited and need significant effort to go to ‘real nature’. This part of society is usually the working class who just do not have the time and shopping malls are their most time-efficient option.
Another important advantage for visiting shopping malls is the cool and stable temperature. Not all people are built for extreme nature outings or able to withstand heat especially in tropical climates. Meanwhile, if people in these countries visit shopping malls, they can enjoy leisure activities in one stop without worrying about the heat.
Finally, however, regardless of some sayings that argue humans need nature compared to being indoors all day. Many people simply do not have the privilege of time to go on these nature outings. It is not right to judge if this is a negative trend or not because everyone’s commitment and preference is different.
In conclusion, while going to the shopping malls is indeed beneficial and time-saving. A little bit of walking in the nearby garden and stepping in the grass will not hurt. It is all about finding that sweet balance.
