Band 9: Many people consider shopping malls as a great places to spend their lesiure time and meet other people. In the past however visiting shopping malls only when necessry To what extend do you agree it its a negative trend

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In today’s fast-paced world, a number of individuals consider shopping centers to be entertainment venues to escape daily pressures and socialize with others, whereas in the past, people visited them only when necessary. While there are clear benefits associated with mental relaxation and stress reduction, I believe that this trend presents some challenges, especially in terms of excessive time consumption and travel costs.

From an optimistic viewpoint, going shopping serves as a powerful catalyst for fostering stress reduction and emotional well-being. When individuals want to visit shopping malls and large markets for different purposes, they are more likely to engage in meaningful conversations such as exchanging ideas, discussing future plans, and reminiscing about the good old days, thereby increasing positive memories and nurturing emotional closeness. As a result, they often avoid feeling burned out and emotionally drained, which, in turn, may ultimately help to promote overall quality of life. Take Central Asian countries such as Uzbekistan, where an increasing number of people struggle with anxiety disorders and cardiovascular diseases, social gatherings in the shopping centres play a crucial role in maintaining a balanced lifestyle.

Despite the aforementioned arguments, in my view, visiting shopping centers poses a serious challenges in terms of finance and time. If people devote their time to shopping, they eventually lose valuable moments and accumulate financial difficulties, thereby straining household budgets and draining long-term savings. As a result, they often experience limited purchasing power and investment capacity, which may negatively affect their ability to save for future emergencies.

In conclusion, although visiting shopping malls can offer opportunities by broadening horizons and social interaction, I contend that this trend may intensify financial instability and leave less time for essential responsibilities.
