There is an ongoing belief that music is of importance on a social level, whilst others disagree, arguing that it is nothing more than a form of entertainment. Even though it is notable why music is disregarded as a necessity, I believe that this piece of entertainment also serves certain benefits alongside enjoyment.
Admittedly, there are reasons for the belief in music’s unimportance. Some individuals may view this some of this melodic form of entertainment as unserious and a quick fad or trend. The reason for this is that many modern songs don’t contain much valuable meaning behind the songs or lyrics. For this, individuals don’t necessarily acknowledge the necessity of this musical form of entertainment. As a result, these individuals disregard music for its potential benefits. For instance, the infamous music piece ” Thick of It” by the controversial artist Drake was considered one of the most hated songs of 2025 because it clearly displayed a horrible meaning behind the music piece. Therefore, Music is considered to be of no importance for its unseriousness.
While it is true that music may seem to be unnecessary to some individuals, it certainly contributes benefits to society. For one reason, this melodic piece of entertainment serves as a glue that brings people together. With its catchy, enjoyable melodies, music can foster social cohesion in the community by bringing together inhabitants with similar interests. As a result, individuals from similar societies develop strong bonds with one another over periods of time. The Metateranium civilization is an epitome of this, as it is one of the first communities recorded to revolve its life around music. Instruments such as horns and drums were made from rocks and goat horns, and the inhabitants would use them to resolve conflicts and during festivals. From this lifestyle, the society became one of the most feared and long-lasting communities before the 1400s. Therefore, music is essential and beneficial because it brings communities together.
In conclusion, although certain pieces of music may pose no importance, i believe that music is one of the greater bonds between individuals in a society.
