Task 2:
A number of people think that music only serves as a main means of entertainment, others believe that tune plays a crucial role in the community. In this essay, I will evaluate both perspectives before proposing my own view.
Supporters of the former view often focus on the practical purpose to entertain people. They may think that the only benefit of music is to assist people in unwinding after such a long, tedious day. A pertinent example of this can be evidently observed in office workers, who devote their whole weekends to their work, can take part in music concerts not only to fill their square time, but also get a valuable chance of rejuvenating their inner soul. Additionally, when people spend time on listening to several kinds of music or learning to play instruments, they are occupied, thus lessening their free time on unhealthy activities, such as smoking, gaming, and so on.
However, I strongly believe that music provides individuals more than just entertainment. Undoubtedly, music possesses the potential to enliven the atmosphere where people can find their comfort and relaxation. Music indeed both soothes oneself whenever he is stuck in the state of boredom or sadness; therefore, emerging in just a piece of song can alter one’s moods and feelings. Music can be exploited effectively in treatment. It is reported that music provides a clinically significant boost to mental health, especially for those who are suffering from depression, or other mental diseases. Otherwise, traditional costumes can be passed down and preserved through music MVs. Taking “Bac Bling” of Hoa Minzy as a noticeable example, the long-lasting traditions of Bac Ninh, namely Quan Ho folk singing, betel chewing or Lim festival are widely welcomed, creating a sense of pride and responsibility in each Vietnamese people.
In conclusion, while some individuals just pay attention to the recreational purposes of music, I concur with the notion that it is multi-purposed as it can warm up the atmosphere and act as an efficacious mental therapy.
