The majority tend to think that smoking must be outlawed, whereas the minority believe that it is a poor idea. From my point of view it is a bad idea to ban smoking in our time. The reason for this is that it is a violation of freedom and also that will lead to the development black market. These reasons could have big consequences if smoking is banned
First,banning smoking would limit people’s freedom to make their own choices. In most democratic countries, people have the right to decide what they want to do with their lives, including whether or not to smoke. Even though smoking is bad for health, adults should be allowed to make informed decisions about it.In addition, nowadays a lot of people smoke and a ban could lead to aggravation of the relationship between the people and the government
Furthermore, the existence of a black market would make it difficult for authorities to control smoking in society. Law enforcement would be forced to focus on cracking down on illegal tobacco sales, diverting resources from other important tasks. Criminal organizations could profit from the illegal trade, creating more crime and instability in society. As tobacco becomes more difficult to access legally, the demand for illegal tobacco may rise making the black market grow even stronger
In conclusion, the smoking ban will lead to even greater problems than before. Therefore, instead of a ban, it is better to use other methods on how you can get rid of smoking in our time
