In this modern era, it is often argued that whether people should get a degree before entering employment sectors is a highly controversial and complex topic. However, some people may oppose that experience of working is better than getting a degree. Although there are valid arguments to the contrary, in this essay I will advocate that a comprehensive understanding of knowledge can only be obtained through completing a course which helps to get a better job.
Firstly, it is vitally important that many professions nowadays, which revolve around technology and sedentary desk work, require many basic theories and knowledge. This means that people can only apply and do physical jobs if they do not have a degree. In addition, there are a myriad of advantages to those educated students to find a better job. For instance, highly paid jobs like software engineers, civil engineers and financial workers which require a high education standard, hence it is impossible for ungraduated people to apply to such professions .
Secondly and more importantly, from companies and corporations’ perspective, it is an enormous risk for a company to hire many uneducated workers. However, some may argue that it is a stereotype that uneducated employees are worse. To further illustrate, not all of the uneducated workers are intelligent, meaning that not all of them can learn through their working experiences. Moreover, it is risky and unworthy for a firm to pay for someone to learn.
Based on the evidence and argument presented, it is apparent that it is much more beneficial for those who complete a course in university education than those who start to work immediately.
