A group of people possesses this viewpoint about whether individuals are capable to combat environmental issues or the government may solely have the power to tackle them. From my perspective, the government’s role is massive rather than lone individuals
On one hand, it is deemed that each person ought to do their bit to help solving these problems. Proponents of this view claim that there are several things which can be done to reduce the amount of damage made. For instance, using more public transportation might make a great difference as it minimizes the size of exhaust fumes thrown to the air or limit the consume of disposable products which they are one of the considerably dangerous factors in degrading various bodies of water. It is also believed that people should consider the fact of having only one place to live on and be held accountable to those destructive decision. They must request others to do so regardless the significance of it.
On the other hand, I believe that governments and especially public officials who have an irresistible authority on peoples can do more. Above all, since environmental issues constitute many branches, such as climate change, wastewater issues, global warming etc, money investment is undeniably crucial for gaining enough yield of what has been done. They can raise the awareness among population give the reason that there is still an abundant of people who are neglecting and not taking it seriously. For example, there could be trainings for the working part of citizens elaborating the importance of safeguarding the Earth from possible catastrophic outcomes. Also, it is irrefutable that environmental problems are transboundary which means that government should be collaborating as it does matter for everyone. This is the example to illustrate my point where governments should put much pressure on these very industries which persist in not adopting more eco-friendly patterns or pass laws for whom are dealing with illegal logging at the expense of deforestation and wrecking the bio balance for living ones.
In conclusion, while it is advocated that individuals may have more control on environmental problems, I agree with those who claim in that government and government officials possess advantageous privileges in address them.
