There are many fake accounts on social media nowadays. One of the problems associated with it is spam. To decrease the number of unwanted messages we recieve, social media platforms should have a good system of verification.
Spam is the first thing that comes to mind when we think of fake sociam media profiles. Everybody has recieved email or text messages they did not want to at least once in his or her life. It is not only annoying, but also can cause people to be less focused and overlook truly important for them information. These people do not even think about reading them because they had been receiveng too much spam and got used to ignoring all messages.
To solve the problem of spam, we need to have a strict policy on how people register new accounts. This will make the number of accounts created for illigal activeties significantly lower. One of the ways to do so is an obligation to take a photo. In 2023, a Russian app Avito began asking for a photo when someone tries to rigister on their platform. Since then the app became notably safer and users trust the information they see there a lot more.
To conclude, the large number of fake social media profiles that send unwanted messages can be solved by a strict system of verification that, for example, will require to take a photo during registration.
