In this day and age, more and more students enter universities a year later than usual after graduating from high schools . In my own view, I believe they have some reasons and this essay will shed light on these as well as the pros and cons of doing this.

One of the reason why people take a gap year before continuing at colleges is that they fancy acquiring experience and skills by finding a job first. This is because they have a belief that the knowledge they gain from universities are just hypothesis while practical activities are the ones that matter. Another reason is that people may incline to receive an amount of income for their academic tuition in the upcoming college gears. By doing this, they are able to assist their parents with not only the aforementioned payments but also the others such as apartment renting, food, books , etc. Last but not least, some might desire to travel abroad in order to accomplish knowledge from different cultures, Worldwide labor markets, foreigners’ mindset and more. As a result, students can gain necessary insight for their aspects and future occupation and their jobs opportunities may be extended internationally.

By taking a gap year, students may achieve several benefits. Firstly, they encounter working in reality which would help them gain crucial skills and experience. Therefore, it is also a method of employment orientation since they can witness the suitable and appropriate aspects of the jobs with their ability, hobby. and other conditions. More over, people may learn how to be financially independent during the process of working and acquiring wages. On the other hand, it is also an disadvantage for students because they may fall behind and feel challenging to catch up with their peers who have began the schoolyear earlier. Additionally, people who want to study higher degree such as bachelor will find a job later than the others.

In conclusion, people have a tendency to have a 1-year break between high school and college since they are able to achieve valuable knowledge and salary. As a result, it may not be beneficial for students as they can fall behind in the acadenic curriculum and their future employment may be postponed
