Opinions are divided on whether studying in group or self-study is more effective. This essay will closely examine both perspectives before concluding that I am of the latter opinion.
On the one hand, it is understandable why people think that studying in a group is the best option. Firstly, group study can boost up the work efficiency of the whole team. For example, people studying in a group can exchange knowledge and skills with each other, thus improving overall techniques of the topic. Moreover, collaborative study can give a better outcome as when someone struggles on a complex topic the others can simplify the topic to give the person more of an understanding.
On the other hand, I side with those who believe that self studying is more efficient than group studying. One major benefit is that individual studying reduces distraction by giving you a quiet place to study, thus improving concentration and overall effectiveness of the work hours. In addition, self-study also offers optimal learning style, speed and schedules vary from person to person, individuals don’t have to keep up with the pace of others as with group studying, thus enhancing one’s learning capability.Through time, they can develop a better concentration and schedule management.
In conclusion, although learning in a group offers some advantages to people, I think individual study is the better option for most students, specifically the weaklings in study because it offers them a variety of time, pace to them ,thus helping them to become more independent and self-disciplined in the future.
