Nowadays, competitive athletics are not preferred due to the fear of losing. This has led a number of people think that sports competitions should be banned. From my perspective, I do not agree with that opinion due to the fact that there are a number of advantages for the young.

Firstly, it is clearly seen that taking part in athletics enables the young to increase their physical health. For instance, people who play badminton can have a fit body and strong muscles. Not only does physical health, playing sports also helps people to have good mental health. For example, there are some people who play sports usually happier than those who do not participate in sports.

Secondly, competitive athletics play a significant role in the lives of the young. Playing sports helps young people to be healthier. Sports competitions provide many opportunities for teenagers who have a sedentary lifestyle and spend most of their time studying to exercise and reduce stress. Participating in athletics can equip them with the fundamental skills for their future jobs. For instance, people who play some kind of sports require high teamwork such as soccer and basketball can learn how to cooperate and communicate with their teammates.
