A majority of youths do not find competitive sports fun because of the fear of losing. Thus, they think that sports competitions must be forbidden. In my opinion, although losing a competition might affect young athletes in a negative way, those sport events provide a space for individuals to improve their skills and develop self-esteem.
One significant reason why sports based on competition should be supported instead of illegalization is that they allow individuals to enhance their abilities. This is because people who try to be better in one particular sport activity can compare themselves with others, evaluate their performances, and learn more about it. For example, the biggest competition in football history between Ronaldo and Messi pushed both players to train hard, leading both of them to win almost every trophie.
Another important reason is that competitive sports play a crucial role in boosting self-confidence because winning a competition by defeating everyone can lead individuals to gain self-respect. Similarly, losing it enables them to accept reality, respect opponent, and give them the courage to celebrate the champion. When youngs apply this mindset in their lives, they can feel more mature and act with confidence. To illustrate, after many years playing in different clubs and competing for many titles, Zlatan İbrahimovic said in an interview, even though he has to fight with an UFC champions, he can beat him because in his mind, he is the best.
In conclusion, competing with others via sport activities helps youths to develop their abilities by testing their capacity and talents with others, while also allowing them to build confidence.
