In contemporary society, it is a common sight to see famous people appeared on a number of social media and this has led to concerns primarily regarding their loss of human freedoms and reputation.
It is undoubtedly the case that the trend of focusing too much on individual lives either of celebrities or normal people contradicts human freedoms. I believe that all human beings including famous ones have their rights to protect and keep their private matters confidential. Also, it is believed that freedom plays a integral role in one’s life as it shapes happiness. Without it, the human community would not have been developed like it is now.
Futhermore, one of the main reasons for media paying way too much concentration to celebrities’ private lives is that they might be the most lucrative sources to bring on the Internet and that some journalists could greedily distort the information to manipulate public opinion. It is no wonder that celebrities are engaged in “selling their image” because their job is cater for audiences with entertainment. If the social media’s aim is to deteriorate their decent images by infecting inaccurate facts about their personal lives to disturb the digital network in order to make a profit, detrimental consequences will be inevitable, and even these public figures would be left with serious spychological issues. Moreover, by spreading fallacious figures, social media would be struggling regaining the public trust. For instance, Korea-media has recently been criticized for the unnecessary and offensive intimidation toward an idol’s personal matters which harmed negatively to his image and career path.
Overall, it seems that celebrities want the media to focus fundamentally on their professional work rather than their private affairs.
