Band 7+: Mobile phones are considered essential by most people nowadays. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of mobile phones

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is thought that mobile phones, which are a major part of our lives, have made our daily tasks more comfortable. However, there are a considerable number of others who believe that the drawbacks outweigh the disadvantages. This essay will discuss both sides and provide a logical conclusion.

One evident benefit of mobile phones is the fact that the majority who use them are easier to reach. In other words, in any given period of time people can call their friends and relatives that are miles away from them. Another crucial upside to the matter is that everyday tasks like getting new insights, watching movies, reading books and purchasing goods that are very distant have become way easier since smartphones were introduced to society. Furthermore, a very recent study proves that 90 percent of mobile device buyers get them for these fun elements rather than having calls with other people.

However, these devices also have major disadvantages like addiction to smartphones and the risks they bring with them. Firstly people are getting more and more addicted to this hardware. In fact, social experiments further prove that humanity has become less reliant on their social skills. This, in turn, makes way to social anxiety and other mental problems. Another main con related to smartphones is the collapse of reliability since these devices prove to make us prone to online threats and malware. Some companies steal public data and send dangerous software via our mobile phones.

To conclude, while there are lots of upsides to these so-called “a vital part of our day-to-day life”, it is suggested to keep the balance between social life and hardware usage in order to preserve our basic social skills intact.
