Many countries have introduced more security measures in big cities to deal with rising crime rates. While these measures aim to improve public safety and reduce crime, they also raise concerns about privacy and other issues. From my school of thought, I argue that despite the disadvantages of these security measures, their benefits outweigh the drawbacks.
On the one hand, enhanced security measures offer several benefits. First, increased policing in urban areas can lead to a reduction in crime rates. For instance, CCTV cameras have helped police officers solve many crimes by providing crucial evidence prosecution. It also creates jobs for people and acts as a deterrent. Additionally, having more police officers on the streets can create a sense of safety among residents, encouraging them to go about their daily activities without fear.
However, there are significant drawbacks to these security measures. One major concern is privacy. Many people feel uncomfortable with constant surveillance and do not like being watched all the time. While surveillance can help catch criminals, it can also make individuals feel uneasy and restricted. The next concern is how to install CCTV. Nonetheless, this can be infringement of human rights, it will be constantly observed and make people feel uncomfortable and irritated. Likewise, there are a lots polices, who patrol surrounding. This needs to train a significant of polices and entails the requirement of financial resources. Out of necessity, residents can suffer from concentrated financial budgets and force to pay taxes to the government, while local authorities mention for this.
Despite these drawbacks, the benefits of enhanced security measures in large urban areas outweigh the disadvantages. The primary responsibility of the government is to protect its citizens, and effective security measures can lead to a safer environment, which might even attract more tourists. For example, cities with lower crime rates are generally more appealing to visitors.
In conclusion, although increased security measures in big cities come with some drawbacks, such as privacy concerns, the benefits of reducing crime are crucial. With proper regulations, governments can improve city safety while addressing privacy issues.
