In many countries, governments have implemented stricter security measures in urban areas due to rising crime rates. While there may be certain benefits, I believe that the drawbacks are more significant.
There can be some reasons why increasing measures on crime in cities can be viewed as a positive development. One of the most significant advantages of enhanced security is crime prevention. The presence of surveillance cameras and law enforcement deters potential criminals from engaging in illegal activities, ultimately reducing crime rates. Moreover, increased security ensures faster response times to criminal incidents, helping law enforcement agencies act quickly to prevent further harm. this leads to greater public confidence, encouraging businesses to thrive and residents to feel more secure in their communities.
In my opinion, the negatives of this trend far outweigh the benefits above. One major concern is the violation of personal privacy. With the widespread use of surveillance technology, many individuals feel constantly monitored, leading to discomfort and distrust. Furthermore, the high cost of security systems can place a financial burden on governments, potentially diverting funds from other important sectors such as healthcare and education. As a result, several long-term problems on these sectors lead to decline the qualities of them which are really important for the community.
In conclusion, although the new methods of combining crime may be beneficial in certain ways, I believe that they would be mostly detrimental.
